Sean Kenny
Sean is an experienced senior executive who has focused on technology and business transformation over a 35- year career. He has worked both as a service provider and consultant as well as an operating executive. He is an author of The Contemporary Director, a book which explores the role of the Board of Directors in guiding all aspects of a corporation.
A synopsis of career highlights
1993-2000 Ernst &Young- Partner, established and led the business transformation practice which leveraged technology to transform businesses. The major clients included McDonald's Corporation, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Missouri, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Ohio, Cigna, Port of Seattle, and McDonnell Douglas. The practice grew to $400 million in 5 years, and there were approximately 500 dedicated staff.
2000-2003 Cap Gemini-Vice President, Global Practice leader, Cap Gemini. Following the sale of Ernst and Young Consulting to Cap Gemini Sean was named the leader of the Global Health Care practice. He reported to the Global COO in Paris and the Americas CEO in New York. He grew the global health care practice 21% a year and had clients in Europe, United Kingdom and North America.
2004 Cap Gemini-Senior Vice President, Americas Sales leader. Kenny led the sales effort across all industry verticals and service lines. Sales reached a record $2.3 Billion in the Americas
2004-2008 Electronic Data Systems-Vice President and General Manager Business Transformation Outsourcing. In this role Kenny ran the 1.6-billion-dollar business focusing on transforming and running the technology operations of client's information technology infrastructure, including data centers and contact centers. In late 2007 he added responsibility for Global Applications.
2008-2012 Hewlett Packard- Senior Vice President, Global General Manager Applications. Kenny was responsible for the managing of outsourced client applications in more than 100 companies worldwide. Major clients included American Airlines, Delta Airlines, Telefonica, Citi Bank, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid and the Walt Disney Company. He led a global team of 60,000 staff spread across the Americas Europe and India. In 2012 the Applications business had $8.6 Billion in revenue and $1.8 billion in profit.
2013-2017 EY-Senior Partner Kenny was responsible for all industry verticals in the consulting business of EY. His responsibility was to select and develop partners to serve clients in each of 8 major industries, to grow the consulting business in each industry sector and to manage the industries consulting business of 15,000 FTE's.
2017- Senior Vice President and CIO Carnival Cruise Line, Kenny is responsible for the creation and implementation of technology strategy to enable the CCL business.
